Missing Women’s Inquiry: Wally Oppal faces critics
My latest article in rabble.ca is about a community forum held last week in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Wally Oppal, commissioner of the Missing Women’s Inquiry, heard from local politicians such as Vancouver East MP Libby Davies. Aboriginal activists, women’s groups, and sex-trade workers also gave testimony. The forum was not an official part of the inquiry, which is set to begin later this year. It will examine the Vancouver Police Department and the RCMP’s investigations into the missing and murdered women.
